Chapter 15

Eight months have passed and the first group of people arrived, everything was completed and built in record time with the outpouring of support of everyone. They had Carpenters from Norway, Engineers from Germany, and teachers from Japan, truly a world effort. Many countries sent help and money to show their support. The United States and Florida in particular was an awaking of things to come and God was tired of countries not wanting to support the oasis a program he supported fully. Ben, Chris and Diane almost gave their lives to stop the evil in FL. He’s not about to stand by and watch any country or person stand in the way of a program, designed to stop evil, before it spread throughout the world.

~~~
Unknown to everyone the first batch of people sent from all over the world contained some of the devil’s best followers, there was a reason they were being sent to prisons and institutions, soon they all would wish they never worked at the oasis. His followers were wise, never caught committing their violent crimes, some of the crimes happened in the middle of town in front of hundreds of people. No one saw a thing when police investigators questioned the witness’s, They were all scared, if they talked they would be next.
The devil was a great salesman, he had many things to offer, drugs, money, sex and power. What more could anyone ask for. The world was full of people willing to trade their soul for anything he offered. The devil himself was once an angel until he wised up, realized there was a whole world for his taken, and people standing in line to be one of his followers. The oasis soon would be his, he would send God and his followers back pedaling to leave the place.
The dog kennels received a large shipment of dogs donated from Germany, fifty Sires “male” and fifty bitch’s “female” per breed for a total of 200 dogs. The two breeds sent were in two different shipments to make sure they would not be mixed during shipment, they were sent a week apart and with the shipment, trainers from Germany came also. The first shipment were dogs trained for drug and bomb detection, and for attack and police work. The bomb and drug dogs were in blue crates marked drug and bomb detection. The remaining crates were white and marked police dogs. The two breeds sent were Rottweiler and German shepherd. The bomb and drug detection dogs were four sires and four bitch’s all German Shepherd. The remaining German shepherds, twelve of them for a total of twenty dogs were police dogs. The Rottweiler’s were all police dogs.
The next shipment that arrived a week later with four more trainers were all German shepherds for a total of eighty dogs. The two shipments, police and family dogs were all two years old and never breed before. The dogs were all well trained in commands in German and English. The kennels had twenty Belgian Malinois who were drug and bomb detection dogs and from the twenty, four were cattle herders which the trainers adapted them to help catch a barn sire horse or one that decided to take off for parts unknown. The Breeding had begun with The Malinois a few months before and they were waiting patiently for the puppy’s to come in a month or so. The Malinois came from good stock, breed in the USA. The Malinois were also two years old and well trained.
Ben grew attached to one of the herding Malinois and he stopped by the horse stable whenever he had a chance to see Diane and the Malinois both. The Malinois would see Ben coming long before he ever became visible to the normal eye, he must have knew the sound of the engine. The second Ben got out of his vehicle the dog made a bee-line dash for Ben, the tail wagging and excitement of the dog was high enough to propel him to another planet. The dog loved Ben. Diane would joke with him and say I bet you came to visit your dog again, he said wrong, he came to visit his girl and his dog he loved them both. It was strange it almost seemed as if the dog understand all the words Ben said and when he said he loved both the dog let out a series of happy yelps and started running circles around Ben and Diane, the dog loved them both also. At times the dog acted more like a six month old puppy than a two year old.
Diane if she did not have anyone riding horses that day, or they were not scheduled to ride for four or five hours. She would call Ben and tell him to come pick up his dog. The dog was annoying her again. The truth she loved the dog hanging around, but knew Ben loved the dog and she had another Malinois here to keep her company or get a stray horse if the need arises. The dogs could easily round up a horse or two by their selves. They called the dog rocket, when he took off he ran like a rocket just launched. He had an abundance of energy that he never seemed to run out of. If Ben took the ATV, rocket was happy running out front, he always seemed to know where Ben was going. Ben did not like to take the Malinois away from the ranch, he told the German trainers that.
The trainer told him the family dogs, which were all German shepherd, could easily herd horses. The dogs were there to bond with the people. If you wanted to after they finished the breeding cycle, two German shepherds could be taken over to the stables and trained to help Diane with the horses and socializing with the people. The batch of family dogs has a great temperament. They were breed for that reason, great family dog.
Seconds later Chris was called on the radio by a panic stricken Diane, Chris come fast and bring a shotgun, was all she could say before the radio fell from her shaken hands…
Diane had seen snakes all her life, never had see seen a snake so aggressive and hell bent on striking someone as she saw today. The Malinois was breed in FL and taught to deal with snakes and to avoid them. The Malinois sensed the snakes presents and ran into Diane so hard it sent her tumbling to the ground some ten feet away, the dog herded her away from the snake and tours the truck which she climbed onto after she saw the snake again coming towards them. She did not even know the snake was there until she hit the ground. The snake was a large eight foot long eastern diamond back rattlesnake, it never coiled up and rattled or nothing, it just came at her. She never saw that behavior before. The Malinois was standing beside Diane on the roof of the truck, they both watched as the snake striked out at the truck in rage. Chris arrived moments later with a shotgun in hand, followed seconds later by a property patrol pathfinder. They removed their shotgun from the truck also. Chris quickly dispatched the snake with a single blast to the head. The property patrol unit checked the ranch and called the other unit to assist them to search for any more snakes at the ranch. Ben arrived shortly after and his dog took off looking for snakes as well. Soon the Malinois sitting next to Diane after seeing people arrive to watch over Diane joined in on the search for snakes. Soon rockets barks filled the air, the patrol unit readily dispatched another snake that was six feet long. The other Malinois barked and Chris dispatched another snake six feet long.
Ben got on the phone and called one of the German dog trainers over, after he arrived on the ranch Ben explained the snake problem to him. The trainer needed a few live rattlesnakes caught to use to train his dogs with. Chris called the front desk at the security building living quarters and told them to wake up Mike Jackson, tell him to hurry up he had a few live rattlesnakes to round up. Ben called over the two Malinois and told them to relax. Chris said. “His man would be over shortly, he use to round up snakes when he was a kid growing up in Texas for extra money. His man loved the creepy things.”
Moments later Mike arrived with a homemade stick to pin the snake down and two large boxes to put them in. He gave the command to rocket to find another snake, minutes later rocket was barking at a seven footer. Moments later Mike had the live snake in the box, he commented that he never saw a snake this aggressive before, the snake wanted to kill him, not try to escape. Soon rocket found another one, five feet long, soon Mike had snake two captured. Ben called the local fire department to ask if they could bring them by some snake-capturing tools, they told Ben in fifteen minutes he would drop off two snake tongs that were suited for large eight or nine-foot snakes, consider it a donation. Ben said, “Thanks for your help.”
Chris told Ben he wanted to leave two men at the ranch, he would send the patrol units back to patrolling the base and to get their dogs one at a time trained how to react against snakes and not get bit. He would get two men from the living quarters to stand guard to protect the horses against snake attacks; they would each be armed with shotguns and birdshot. H also requested the two Malinois to stay with his men for snake detection and he requested as soon as a few dogs were trained to send them over to give the Malinois a break. The trainer asked to bring rocket to train a few dogs and after one hour he could pick him back up and bring him back to the ranch. The trainer said nothing beats another dog for training; the other dogs can watch and learn from a properly trained dog. Rocket was well trained with snakes.
Chris had now three female officers who were recently added to his team to help with the people who came to their camp who were female. He assigned one female officer to Diane and she was given a shotgun with birdshot. She was told to stay with Diane until they could clean up the snake problem. The two women left for the log cabin where Diane and Ben lived, Diane was still shaking from the recent snake attack. Ben kissed her forehead and told her he would clean up the problem and go home later to check on her, if she had any problems Ben wanted her to call him right away. Two officers arrived carrying shotguns from the living quarters, Chris told them to guard the ranch, horses and he was leaving one Malinos to help protect the snakes and more dogs would arrive later. The trainer said they needed to change the dogs about every four hours and he would send some dogs there way once he trained them which should be in a few hours. The dogs needed fresh drinking water and needed to be fed twice a day, morning and in the evening. He would send another trainer with the dogs to help take care of their needs. The trainer decided to train every single dog they had with the snakes. They could not afford to lose a dog to a snakebite, expecting mothers would be trained after they had their litters, he did not want to cause them extra stress. He would leave a few snake trained dogs to protect the kennels of the female dogs until they had their litters and could be trained themselves.
Nestled under his blanket lye Oliver Schultz, he arrived two days ago with a police escort to make sure he made it to the oasis. The escort would stay to translate and help keep Oliver under control. Austria was happy to find a place to send Oliver to, no witness’s would tell of the horrendous burning of a family and Oliver walked free.
Six months ago Oliver burnt a family to death in their car. They parked their car behind a large tree and Oliver pulled a stolen truck behind their car blocking their escape. Upon returning to their car, the driver opened the door to ask if Oliver could move his truck and let them out. It was then that Oliver poured gasoline from a hidden gas can all over the driver, and his family, then lighting it. He used a wooden baseball bat to hit members of the family who tried to escape the burning car. He squirted barbeque lighter fluid in the car to help accelerate the fire, the only thing that was louder than the victims screams were Oliver’s laughs of joy as the family burnt to death. Oliver than through the gas can and baseball bat into the fire and left the scene leisurely as if he was taking a stroll in the park.
He was just a kid at fifteen and one family was dead and his grandparents died a year earlier when he was vacationing with them in a terrible house fire, Oliver escaped unharmed, the fire blamed on faulty wiring.
If Oliver was responsible, no one is saying. Austria is righteously scared of Oliver and so should anyone else.
Oliver yawned and got dress to walk outside to enjoy a little fresh air, as he walked through the grass the snakes made a path for him to walk, instead of attacking him. The snakes and Oliver acted as if they were long lost friends. He would help his friends gain entry into buildings. His friends would help keep people away so he could start a few fires in return. A perfect friendship. First things first, he carried a handful of his friends and put them in the living quarters of the Austrian escort who brought him here. The escort slept like baby’s, they were tired and put in a long day yesterday following the kid around everywhere. Screams were heard as the escort received snakebites repeatedly to their face and neck. The five snakes quickly ended the lives of the two police officers. Oliver left the door open so the snakes could leave before anyone would arrive. Oliver was enjoying his stay at the oasis so far.
